Denver got its modern rail system in October 1994, when the RTD light rail Central Corridor opened. In the thirty years since, the network has grown from a single downtown route into a system of light rail and commuter rail. In 2014 light rail moved into the rebuilt Union Station, sharing a single hub with commuter trains and buses, and in April 2016 the A Line commuter rail opened to Denver International Airport, followed by the B, G, and N lines.
