Palembang
Palembang got its first urban rail line in 2018, when the LRT built for the Asian Games opened. It was also the first LRT in Indonesia to enter service. The fully elevated line runs about 23 km from Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport to Jakabaring Sport City, home to the Games venues. Six stations opened that August and all 13 were in use by October, and the trains cross the Musi River right beside the Ampera Bridge, so travelers can ride a single train from the airport into the city center.
